"My fiancé and I spent 3 nights at Elk Lake Resort recently. We can't say enough about our stay and the good times we had. We unloaded our snowmobiles and rode 18 miles to Elk Lake. Amazing ride with scenery to die for.... The cabin we stayed in was just what we were looking for. Quaint, CLEAN, and comfortable. The price of the cabin included 3 meals a day each. A true value that makes you feel like your getting a real bang for your buck. Not to mention the food was absolutely amazing. The kind of food that you keep eating even when you are full because it's so good. There is a fun bar in the lodge with a pool table, darts and very reasonably priced drinks. We would go ride the snowmobiles each day. There is excellent riding to be had...see pictures...and what a treat to come back to home cooked dinner and our peaceful cabin. We can't say enough about our stay. Spend some time at Elk Lake and go home feeling rested and rejuvenated."

First off: We're from Washington State, have stayed at Elk Lake twice in the past two years, and both times it was a primary destination of our trip. It's that good, from all points of view. Proximity: Centennial Valley is jaw-dropping beautiful yet its only about 40 minutes from Henry's Lake, Idaho, which is the gateway to Yellowstone's west entrance. The road is mostly gravel and quite good. Fishing: At a nearby lake, we caught 16 rainbow/cutthroat to 18 inches in an hour (before a thunderstorm chased us away). The Centennial Valley has creeks and small lakes with truly world-class fishing, if you know how to string up a fishing rod (jab at those below who complained about fishing here). Hiking: the best. Hike up the ridge behind the lodge for incredible views. Food: this was our favorite part. Excellent, filling breakfasts and dinners. The hosts and their family are just wonderful human beings. All in all, of all the places we've visited around the world, definitely a top-10 location."

"If you want good quality time with the family and only an hour drive away from Yellowstone Park, I highly recommend this adventure. I thought the food was great and the hosts are very accommodating. There is nearby fishing, hiking, boating and horseback riding. My young kids had so much fun and the teens/20 year olds enjoyed boating and sun bathing on the shores of the lake. A great place for a group gathering."

"The food home-style and amazing. The location is hidden and beautiful. It is not easy (well at least for most city-folk) to get to....20 miles down a dirt road from Island Park, ID. But is well worth the journey. For all of these reasons, we chose Elk Lake Resort as our wedding destination....er...wedding adventure. . .
Half of our guests stayed with us at Elk Lake and the rest drove in from Island Park on the day of the event. . .There is no TV or fancy features and your cell phone will not work. But you don't need any of that here.
We had our rehearsal dinner at the resort and breakfast every morning. All the food was delicious and hearty. . .all spectacular. . .
The surroundings are beautiful and the owners, will treat you like family. . .There was no stress in working with them to do everything we wanted for our event. If there was something we wanted that they didn't have (hay bales), they got it for us. . ."
