The Gravelly Range is unique in that you can drive up into the 'heart' of the mountains. Explore places like "Wolverine Basin". Drive past the base of "Cave Mountain". Revel in the sheer beauty of "Lion Mountain". Climb the heights of "Black Butte" and reach an elevation higher than the Centennial Mountain's highest point.

An even bigger secret than the Centennial Valley, the Gravelly Range offers you an opportunity to get into the mountains without the hassle usually associated with this much of a 'backcountry' experience. This mountain range divides Montana's little known Centennial Valley and its well-known Madison Valley. You can access these mountinas from either valley.
