Our unique backcountry lodge offers cross country skiing and snowshoeing adventures for any age or skill level - just outside your cabin door. We cater to the adventurous skier - those looking for a winter wilderness experience. Although we have a small groomer to 'soften the bumps', cross-country skiing at Elk Lake is all about getting back to pure nature. Our skiers enjoy skiing off-the-beaten-path. They relish in going 'where few have gone before.' They enjoy having not just a cabin, or a lodge to themselves, but an entire valley with its surrounding mountains. Can't imagine that? Check us out!
Our Winter Vacation Resort's guests aren't the shy, the timid, or the fearful of heart. Our Yellowstone Country Vacatoin Lodge sits in the middle of nowhere. Our guests relish watching the moose just down the valley, admiring the Trumpeter Swans on a nearby pond, and spying a fox, an eagle, or an otter near the lake. Their hearts beat in tune with nature. They welcome the deep velvet night sky. They revel in the sun's warm rays. And, they find, in the purity and seclusion of an off-the-beaten-path winter vacation destination, their 'winter wonderland.'
We cherish the quiet mornings, watching the sun rise over Deer Mountain. We delight in the serenity of clear cold days and star-pricked nights. We exult in the snowflakes that drift down to drape the towering pines. We savor the tranquility of winter's cloak. Thus, we understand the need to get away from the hustle, the bustle, the press, and the noise.
Ski into adventure. Enjoy mountain vistas, boundless views, and truly quiet recreation. Our backcountry lodge's crew is set up to shuttle you and your gear to the lodge. If you'd rather enjoy some wildnerness ski touring but don't feel up to the full 18 miles, we can shuttle you to your desired drop off point. Ski 5, 8, 10, or 15 miles. We'll take you there and check on you regularly. When you arrive, you will find great meals, a warm cabin, pure relaxation, and lots of skiing and snowshoeing adventures waiting - just outside your cabin door. Skier support, cargo, and shuttle service is $15.00 per person each way - (minimum $30 each way)
Winter Prices include: Cabin, room tax, hot deluxe breakfast buffet, hot or box lunch, and a four-course dinner(including non-alcoholic beverages):
One or two night stay

Three or more night stay
$100.00 per person - double occupancy
$120.00 per person - single occupancy
A group of six or more, staying three nights or more:
$90.00 per person - double occupancy
$110.00 per person - single occupancy
Prices do not include cargo and passenger shuttle.
Cancellation Policy: A deposit equal to 25% of your stay is required to reserve a cabin. Twenty percent of the deposit is fully refundable up to 1 month in advance of your arrival. Sorry, no refunds for late arrival or early departure.
